I didn't hate the idea of the Pittsburgh Steelers going out and adding Aaron Rodgers this offseason, but it definitely didn't help the future of this organization, if we're being honest.

While the short-term outlook for the Steelers is significantly better than it was a few months ago due to Rodgers' decent play this year, it's also important to note that the Steelers will likely need to find a quarterback after this season.

There have been reports saying that the Steelers want Rodgers back, but it remains uncertain if he wants to stay around.

Considering that most star quarterbacks don't hit the free agency market, the Steelers will either have to find their next quarterback in the draft or via trade.

There's a decent quarterback class coming in, but it doesn't look like the Steelers will be in a position to make a big-time selection.

Regarding the trade market, there could be a few intriguing names, and Kyler Murray is one of them.

Tyler Sullivan of CBS Sports recently named Murray as a candidate for the Steelers moving forward.

“Pittsburgh finds itself atop the AFC North at the midway point of the 2025 regular season with Aaron Rodgers at the helm. While the Rodgers experiment has largely proven to be a success a this point, it's not a long-term option for the organization.

“Rodgers himself alluded to this season possibly being his last in the NFL, which would put the Steelers back into the quarterback market this offseason. If they make the playoffs like they are currently projected to do, they won't have a first-round draft pick high enough in 2026 to put them in the range of a Day 1 starter. So, they'll likely be dipping their toe back into the veteran market, and they could do a lot worse than Murray,” he wrote.

I don't hate the idea of bringing in Murray, either, but I also think it's fair to recognize that he isn't exactly a great player, and given how much money he earns, there can be some uncertainties associated with him.

However, if the Steelers could land him for just a third-round pick or something similar, which I guess would be a bit unlikely because he's still decent, I'd give it a shot.
