DeMeco Ryans is adding another line to his growing résumé, and this time, it extends beyond the sidelines of the Houston Texans.

The rising head coach has been appointed to the NFL Competition Committee for the 2026 season, a prestigious league role that places him among the NFL’s most influential decision-makers.

The appointment won’t significantly alter Ryans' responsibilities in Houston.

He will continue leading the Texans while contributing league-wide insight, including meetings at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis.

There, he’ll collaborate with coaches, executives, and stakeholders to help shape the game’s future.
