Why C.J. Stroud is Asking for So Much

Houston Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud is reportedly asking for $70 million per year. If that number makes you recoil, your instincts are good.

Stroud may not be worth $70 million/year if the goal is building a Super Bowl roster, but he probably shouldn't be getting that much anyway. He may know that, too.

From a business perspective, it seems Stroud is simply negotiating into the next "highest paid quarterback," conversation. Currently, that is Dak Prescott with $60 million per year.

Why do you think Stroud would ask for $70 million?
