From explosive Ole Miss runners to dominant Oklahoma defensive tackles, discover which collegiate stars top analysts are projecting to bolster the Texans’ roster in next year’s draft.

Way too early mock drafts won’t mean anything after the upcoming college football season, but they are an excellent indicator of some prospects to watch out for. Because of this, teams should pay attention to these simulations. To help Houston Texans fans with this, here are five projections for them from some of the biggest sites and what they should expect from them.

ESPN: Kewan Lacy, RB, Ole Miss

Kewan Lacy established himself as arguably the most explosive running back in the nation last year. He was a pivotal reason for Ole Miss’ success, totalling 1,567 yards and 24 touchdowns. His rare blend of size, speed, and vision makes him a dynamic weapon capable of carrying an offense. Lacy would be an excellent addition to the Texans’ backfield, which lacks playmakers.

CBS: TJ Moore, WR, Clemson

Featured stories

TJ Moore’s combination of speed and contested catch ability makes him an elite deep-threat for Clemson. The six-foot-three, 200-pound true junior will be the focal point in the Tigers' offense. He’s flown under the radar recently, but is set to break out in 2026. If all goes well, he could be an enticing fit in the Texans' offense.

Bleacher Report: David Stone, DT, Oklahoma

David Stone is potentially the most talented player in the nation. His blend of explosiveness and power makes him a dominating presence on Oklahoma’s defense. He only had 1.5 sacks last season, but that number could drastically rise next year. Don’t be surprised to hear Stone’s name in contention for a top-10 selection next April.

PFF: Rasheem Biles, LB, Texas

Rasheem Biles transferred from Pitt to Texas last offseason and is set to instantly make an impact. He isn’t the biggest player, standing only 6-foot-1 and weighing 220 pounds, but compensates with his athleticism and versatility. Biles can play anywhere on defense and thrives in every aspect, whether it’s as a run defender, in pass coverage, or as a blitzer. Expect to hear his name on the national radar as he joins a premier team in the nation.

Yahoo Sports: Omarion Miller, WR, Arizona State

Like Biles, Omarion Miller entered the transfer portal last year and committed to Arizona State. He will attempt to fill the lost production from Jordyn Tyson and sustain the elite pipeline of Sun Devil receivers. The former Colorado Buffalo ended 2025 with 45 receptions for 808 yards and eight touchdowns. His explosiveness and physicality make him an intriguing prospect who will be a top receiver in the league.
