Taking a look at the initial Week 3 injury report for the Houston Texans.

The Houston Texans have now fallen to 0-2 following the tough loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, which now means that the Texans must win in Week 3 to avoid the dreaded 0-3 start.

When it comes to winning in Week 3, health is going to play a key role for Houston, so let's take a look at the injury report as of Wednesday for the Texans.

On Wednesday, the injury report was quite fell as it included safeties Reed Blankenship (thumb) and M.J. Stewart (knee), wide receiver Nico Collins (hamstring), linebackers Jake Hummel (groin) and Wade Woodaz (thumb), offensive linemen Ed Ingram (groin) and Trent Brown (wrist/knee), tight end Dalton Schultz (rest), and edge rushers Will Anderson Jr. (rest), Jadaveon Clowney (knee), and Logan Hall (knee).

Overall, the Texans seem to be in a solid spot heading into Week 3, but there are a few things that Houston needs to keep in mind when it comes to injuries.

First, it is important to note that Blankenship and Woodaz were full participants in practice, so they both seem like they are in solid shape and should be good to go moving forward.

In terms of limited players in practice, that group includes Anderson, Hall, and Stewart, and at this point, that is not too worrying as it is early in the week, and Anderson in particular is doing just fine as he was simply resting.

When it comes to players who did not participate, there are quite a few, as that includes Collins, Hummel, Ingram, Brown, Schultz, and Clowney. In this group, Schultz was resting, so he is the only player who appears to be without an injury to monitor, other than potentially being sore.

Now, looking at the rest of the group, Collins, Ingram, Hummel, and Clowney all missed Week 2, so it is worth monitoring whether or not any of them practice at all this week and can return to play in Week 3. On the other hand, Brown did play on Sunday, so with him now being on the injury report, that is something to watch heading into the rest of the week.

At this point in the season, it is paramount for players to get healthy and stay healthy for the long run, so if the Texans are more cautious that does make sense, especially with players like Collins who are key pieces of the roster and have a lot to do with the overall team success deep into the season.

So, looking ahead to the rest of the week, it will be interesting to watch the progress that is made for each of these players and, in particular, whether or not Collins, Ingram, Brown, Clowney, and Hummel will be ready to go on Sunday, as they are key parts of the Texans roster and have key impacts on how successful this team can be.
