Houston snapped their losing streak against Tennessee, but Bullock believes they must prove themselves against a tougher divisional opponent in Jacksonville.

The Houston Texans finally got in the win column against the Tennessee Titans, but safety Caden Bullock believes Sunday's matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars will provide a much better indication of where the team stands.

Following Houston's victory over Tennessee, Bullock acknowledged the importance of getting a win but made it clear that the Texans expected to dominate a struggling Titans team.

“It was good, I mean, we did what we were supposed to do, like, no offense, it was Tennessee, so we were supposed to go out there and dominate,” Bullock said. “I'll say this is the real test this week.”

The comments reflect the challenge facing Houston as they attempt to recover from a disappointing start to the season. After entering the year with expectations of competing for the AFC South title, the Texans stumbled out of the gate and desperately needed a win to get their season moving in the right direction.

Tennessee provided that opportunity, but Jacksonville presents a different challenge.

The Jaguars enter the matchup with a 4-1 record, putting them in a strong position to win the division. Houston, meanwhile, improved to 1-4 following its victory over the Titans. The Texans have little room for error if they hope to work their way back into the divisional race, making Sunday's game particularly important.

Houston needed to take care of business against Tennessee, but replicating that performance against Jacksonville will require another strong showing.

The Texans have struggled to find consistency on both sides of the ball this season. Their early losses exposed issues that cannot be fixed with one victory, and they still have plenty to prove before they can be considered a serious contender in the AFC South.

For Bullock and the Houston defense, the upcoming matchup offers an opportunity to prove that the performance against Tennessee was not simply a product of facing a poor opponent. Jacksonville has established themselves as one of the league's better teams through the first five weeks, and slowing down the Jaguars would give Houston a chance to build some much-needed confidence.

The secondary will be especially important as the Texans look to limit Jacksonville's passing attack and prevent explosive plays. Houston cannot afford to allow the Jaguars to dictate the game, particularly if the offense struggles to maintain consistency.

Beyond the immediate implications for the standings, Sunday's game could help determine whether Houston is capable of making a meaningful push over the remainder of the season. A loss would leave the Texans with an even steeper climb, while a victory would provide an opportunity to gain ground on a division rival.
