The Tennessee Titans have been playing at Nissan Stadium since 2016, when its name was changed from LP Field.
The venue was known as LP Field from 2006-2015. Before that, it was called The Coliseum from 2002-05 and Adelphia Coliseum from 1999-2002.
While the names have changed, the memories are still the same for many Titans fans in the Volunteer State.
During the Adelphia Coliseum years, there was the infamous Music City Miracle. At Nissan Stadium, we saw incredible feats like Derrick Henry's 99-yard touchdown run, the overtime thriller against the Philadelphia Eagles in 2018 and the blocked game-winning field goal in a 35-32 victory over the Kansas City Chiefs in 2019.
Those are just some of the great memories fans have had at this stadium.
Unfortunately, after the 2026 season, Nissan Stadium will be demolished to make way for a new stadium built right next door. The final game at Nissan Stadium is going to be against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Jan. 3, 2027.
The new stadium is set to be completed in February of 2027 and will be ready for use by the time that season rolls around. The upgraded version of Nissan Stadium wasn't going to be done in time for the 2026 World Cup, but the Titans are going to host a Super Bowl in the near future.
The Titans were announced as the host of Super Bowl LXIV in 2030, which will be a great use of the venue.
For lifelong Titans fans, there is a way for you to hold onto the memories you've made at the old Nissan Stadium, per WSMV 4's Lauren Lowrey. The Titans are planning to sell seats and other parts of the stadium.
All sales will benefit the Titans Foundation, and you can sign up to be notified here when the website where you can buy parts of the old stadium goes live.
It was a great day for the state of Tennessee when the Houston Oilers moved here in 1997. It was an even better day when they officially moved to Nashville in 1999.
The Titans have been a major part of this city's great history, and it's awesome that the franchise is letting fans continue to enjoy the legacy the organization has created.
Season-ticket holders, or even fans who have sat in the same seats for many years, have the opportunity to purchase the seats they've held since 1999.
It'll be hard to say goodbye to the old Nissan Stadium, but this will definitely make things easier for those who love the Titans.
