Titans Football Operations President Chad Brinker departs, citing new opportunities amid significant organizational turnover and recent draft decisions.

There was breaking news in the Music City on Tuesday night.

Tennessee Titans President of Football Operations Chad Brinker announced that he was stepping down from his role with the organization, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Brinker originally joined the franchise in 2023, first working as the Assistant General Manager. He was then promoted to the President of Football Operations in 2024. His duties in his previous position included hiring Mike Borgonzi as General Manager after Ran Carthon's firing and overseeing the Titans' roster.

He said that he decided to step down due to other opportunities and appreciated Owner Amy Adams-Strunk's understanding with the situation. Here's a portion of his statement.

"I'm proud of the work we've done over the past three years - under challenging circumstances - to begin the process of getting the Titans football organization back on track, not the least of which was last year's General Manager search position and throughout the scouting department," Brinker said. "While there is work to be done, I believe we've laid the foundation to restore the Titans to its rightful place as a sustainable, winning program."

Brinker adds to the long list of turnover this organization has had since 2022. Since that year, the franchise has fired Jon Robinson, Carthon, Mike Vrabel, Brian Callahan, and now Brinker has stepped down.

It's been rough to be a Titans' fan since the Vrabel era.

Vrabel led the team to three playoff appearances before his firing following the 2023 season. Then, the Titans went with Callahan as head coach. The Titans have gone 6-28 since deciding to move on from Vrabel.

Callahan didn't even make it two full seasons before he was fired after losing to the Las Vegas Raiders in Week 6. Even before that, there were the awful contracts Carthon handed out to Lloyd Cushenberry, Calvin Ridley, Tony Pollard and L'Jarius Sneed.

Realistically, only Pollard has lived up to his contract so far. Cushenberry and Sneed aren't on the team anymore.

It'll be interesting to see what this means for the roster control going forward. Maybe this means Borgonzi will have full control over the roster.

The Titans just completed their first 2026 NFL Draft with Robert Saleh as head coach. Tennessee picked Ohio State receiver, Auburn edge rusher Keldric Faulk, Texas linebacker Anthony Hill Jr., Arkansas guard Fernando Carmona, Penn State running back Nicholas Singleton, Baylor defensive tackle Jackie Marshall, Indiana center Pat Coogan and Oklahoma tight end Jaren Kanak.

It's been clear that the Titans are moving forward with Borgonzi and Saleh in charge. Brinker stepping down solidifies that the franchise is ready to hand the keys to Borgonzi.

It's officially a new era of Titans football.
