Following a crushing end-zone interception against the Giants, Tennessee’s rookie quarterback shifts his tone, acknowledging the critical late-game mistakes that have left the Titans winless entering Week 4.

The Tennessee Titans have had a disastrous start to the 2026 season.

The Titans are 0-3 heading into Week 4 after losing what felt like a winnable game to the New York Giants, 12-7. The Giants were without starting quarterback Jaxson Dart, who is expected to miss the year with a knee injury.

Jameis Winston was under center, yet the Titans couldn't force a single turnover. The defense held up when needed, keeping the game within reach after allowing four field goals.

The game came down to a 1st-and-Goal with the Titans down 12-7. Tennessee finally got on the board in the fourth quarter after a touchdown drive that ended with a Wan'Dale Robinson score against his old team.

Cam Ward and the offense started to click as he led the team down the field. The Titans reached the Giants' eight-yard line.

Ward had room to run with the ball but chose to throw it into the end zone for a score, only for it to be intercepted.

After the game, Ward doubled down on the play. He said that the throw wasn't reckless and that if he had thrown a better ball, the result would've changed.

On Wednesday, we saw a different mindset from Ward.

He admitted that he needs to play better in the game's biggest moments. His decision-making skills definitely weren't the best in Week 3, and it cost the Titans a chance to win the game.

This was a change in tone from the quarterback, but at least he recognizes his role in the loss. He shared this when asked for his take on the loss.

"I just don't think I played, you know, my best in critical situations," Ward said. "You look at it over the course of the game; it was, you know, good to win, but when, you know, when I need to play my best, you know, I didn't. That's something I got to get better at. Something I got to, you know, attack on, you know, this week and go into the next game. But, you know, it's something that, you know, you get to learn from. You get to experience that, you know, you limit that time so you make sure it doesn't happen again in the future."

This is something that Ward must improve at as he continues to progress as a quarterback in this league.

Sunday won't be the last time Ward is in a situation like that with the game on the line.

The Titans have another opportunity to prove themselves on the road in Week 4. The Baltimore Ravens are up next.

There is some history between the Titans and the Ravens from the days when Eddie George and Ray Lewis squared off regularly. Now, Derrick Henry is seeing the Titans for the first time since his departure from the franchise following the 2023 season.

Henry is still the same player he once was, so the Titans have their work cut out for them.

Henry and Titans reunite at M&T Bank Stadium on Sunday at noon CT on CBS.
