The Tennessee Titans were big spenders in the early stages of NFL free agency, yet ESPN still believes they are one of the "losers" of the offseason thus far. Someone's off the mark, but is it ESPN or the Titans?

The legal tampering period opened on Monday for the Tennessee Titans and every other team around the NFL.

Starting at 11 a.m. Central, there was a free-for-all for unrestricted free agents, and the Titans made sure to take advantage.

It was relatively quiet at first for the Titans, as they signed Mitchell Trubisky from the Buffalo Bills and tight end Daniel Bellinger from the New York Giants. While the first couple of signings were minimal, they filled the team's needs.

Trubisky will be the backup quarterback behind Cam Ward, and Bellinger is most likely going to be used more as a blocking tight end.

Then, General Manager Mike Borgonozi went on a spending spree.

He first signed receiver Wan'Dale Robinson from the Giants on a four-year, $78 million deal. Tennessee wasn't done just yet. The Titans then added a player to pair with Jeffrey Simmons on the defensive line, signing former Denver Broncos and New York Jets defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers

Franklin-Myers is on a three-year, $63 million deal.

After a 3-14 season, there were more needs to be addressed, especially in the secondary. L'Jarius Sneed hasn't lived up to his contract and is expected to either be traded or released in the coming days.

Borgonzi added two starting-caliber corners to the secondary, with Alontae Taylor from the New Orleans Saints and Cor'Dale Flott, another former Giants player.

The Titans also added center Austin Schlottmann from the Giants, former Kansas City Chiefs corner Josh Williams and guard Cordell Volson before the dust settled.

Time will tell if the Titans made the right moves, but ESPN is not impressed. ESPN's Bill Barnwell grouped the Titans and the Cleveland Browns as some of the "losers" of free agency.

He liked the defensive additions the franchise made, but wasn't convinced by the offensive signings. Barnwell disagreed with the move to bring in Robinson, stating that the Titans already had a player like him on the roster in Chimere Dike.

Time will tell if what Barnwell says is right. We'll have to see how this talent that Borgonzi brought in produces on the field.

The Titans have already addressed multiple needs through free agency ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft. The team still has many more needs to address, even after the signings.

Center is still an enigma for this team after the release of Lloyd Cushenberry. Tennessee has a decision to make about whether to find a replacement in free agency or the draft.

Right guard is also an interesting situation. The team has Jackson Slater on the roster, but he's been cross-training at center this offseason, so the position he'll play in 2026 is uncertain.

There are still a lot of moves that the franchise could make with the number of needs this offseason.
