Tennessee faces a rain-soaked reunion with Derrick Henry as key starters Tony Pollard and John Franklin-Myers clear protocol to bolster a defense tasked with slowing their former superstar.
The Tennessee Titans are a just a couple of days away from seeing an old friend.
Unfortunately, that old friend is Derrick Henry. Henry left the Titans after the 2023 season and joined the Baltimore Ravens in free agency. He is still the same player he was with the Titans.
Henry isn't pulling any punches and will give everything he has against his former team.
Jeffery Simmons believes that if the Titans can hit Henry before his fourth or fifth step, they can limit him throughout the game. That will be no easy task either way, especially since the forecast in Baltimore, Maryland, is calling for rain.
As of Friday, there's a 59% chance of rain and light winds. The Ravens could be extra motivated to run the football if that forecast comes true.
The Titans will need all the reinforcements they can get. Luckily, they are fairly healthy coming into the matchup.
On Friday's injury report, the Titans had two players not carrying injury designations.
Defensive lineman John Franklin-Myers (back) appeared on the injury report at the beginning of the week. He didn't practice on Wednesday and was limited on Thursday. He got upgraded to a full participant on Friday.
He is good to go for Sunday.
Tony Pollard (foot) was placed on the injury report again due to lingering foot soreness from the Week 2 game against the Philadelphia Eagles. He was among the players who couldn't practice on Wednesday, but he got back into shape in time for Friday and is cleared to play.
The only two players who carried injury designations were Tyjae Spears (ankle) and Kevin Winston Jr. (shoulder).
Spears and Pollard have both dealt with soreness ever since the Eagles game. Spears was on last week's injury report with the same issue but was cleared for Week 3 after being listed as questionable.
He's questionable again heading into Week 4, but don't be surprised if the Titans list him as active for kickoff.
Winston was added late, halfway through the practice schedule. He was fine on Wednesday but then sustained a shoulder issue on Thursday. He was a full participant on Thursday but was then downgraded and didn't practice on Friday.
Winston is questionable against the Ravens.
This will be the last game that the Titans play before their AFC South opener with the Houston Texans in Week 5. We'll learn a lot about this team based on how they perform on Sunday.
Henry isn't going to make it easy on the Titans. Kickoff is set for noon CT on CBS from M&T Bank Stadium.
