A Giants insider believes Cor'Dale Flott is a "dawg," a hidden gem who could transform the Titans' struggling pass defense.
The Tennessee Titans have several players on their roster who either played for head coach Robert Saleh or offensive coordinator Brian Daboll.
Players like Wan'Dale Robinson, John Franklin-Myers, Austin Schlottmann and Cor'Dale Flott have played for one or the other.
Flott was one of the starting cornerbacks on Daboll's defense at the New York Giants. He played in 14 games and started all of them in 2025, recording one interception, 38 total tackles and one forced fumble.
He hasn't played a full season since he entered the league in 2022. A knee injury last season kept him from playing in a full 17-game season.
Matt Sidney of Gmen HQ believed the Titans really have a diamond in the rough in Flott, per Titans Sized's Justin Melo.
"Cor’Dale Flott is a dawg," Sidney said. "It's his high motor and tenacious play that helped him beat out Deonte Banks for a starting role in 2025, leading to his breakout season in the process. He’s quietly one of the more impactful corners in the NFL, holding opposing quarterbacks to a 61.4 passer rating last season, which ranked fifth among corners. The still-only-24-year-old cornerback has come a long way since being drafted in the third round in 2022. Flott has gone from a relatively raw prospect to a reliable starting cornerback, and the Titans are getting a real stud in the former LSU standout."
If what Sidney says is true, then Flott could be what the Titans' secondary desperately needs. Tennessee allowed the sixth-most passing yards per game last season at 248.3 per game.
Whether that was due to the secondary being worse than anticipated or L'Jarius Sneed not living up to the contract the former General Manager Ran Carthon signed him to, the pass defense was a struggle in Music City in 2025.
The starters at cornerback are projected to be Flott, Alontae Taylor, and Marcus Harris at nickel. The safeties are expected to be Amani Hooker and Kevin Winston Jr.
The Titans are following the blueprint that has led to success in recent history for teams like the Washington Commanders and New England Patriots. Tennessee spent the most in free agency and hopes the franchise will go from a loser to a playoff team sooner rather than later.
Both of those teams hired defensive-minded head coaches, and the Titans have done the same with Saleh.
If Flott is as good as Sidney makes him out to be, then he could've been the biggest steal the Titans had in free agency.
