With edge rusher Joseph Ossai and receiver Tim Patrick sidelined, New York faces a depleted roster while Tennessee remains nearly at full strength for the Sunday opener.

The Tennessee Titans aren't entering Sunday's game without injuries.

It looks like the New York Jets aren't either.

For the Titans, just one player is going to be out for the game. Linebacker Cedric Gray was ruled out with a concussion. Luckily, the Titans did get Keldric Faulk back from his shoulder injury from the preseason.

The Titans are lucky to only have one player out. The Jets could have multiple players not suiting up for the game.

New York released its final injury report on Friday. Two players were ruled out for them, as edge Joseph Ossai and receiver Tim Patrick are dealing with injuries.

Ossai has a foot injury, and Patrick is out with a groin issue. Then, running back Kene Nwangwu (back) and defensive back D'Angelo Ponds (calf) are doubtful.

He sustained a plantar fascia injury in the Jets' preseason finale.

Ossai signed with the Jets in free agency on a three-year, $36 million deal. Before that, he spent the first four years of his NFL career with the Cincinnati Bengals. He accounted for 14.5 sacks, 116 total tackles and 16 TFLs.

He was never really able to see the field at a consistent rate with the Bengals and is trying to find that with the Jets. He'll have to wait longer to make his regular-season Jets debut.

Patrick just signed with the Jets this offseason as well. He joined the team on a one-year, $2 million contract per Spotrac. He's been in the NFL since 2018 and started out with the Denver Broncos.

His initial contract was for four years, and then he re-signed with the Broncos in 2022. He signed a three-year extension but then tore his ACL. After working to recover from that, Patrick then tore his Achilles the following year.

Patrick was removed from football for two years, then signed with the Detroit Lions in 2024, and was with the Jacksonville Jaguars last year.

Ponds and Nwangwu provide valuable depth for the Jets. Ponds is behind former Titan Jarvis Brownlee Jr., who is expected to be New York's starting slot corner. Brownlee was with the Titans last year before being traded at the deadline.

Ponds was drafted out of Indiana in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Nwangwu is in his third year with the Jets, having started his career with the Minnesota Vikings in 2021.

It seems the Jets will be without one starter and three depth players. This is still the NFL, and neither team will go down easy.

We'll see if these absences truly matter on Sunday
