Nashville's heritage meets a modern aesthetic as the franchise blends iconic Oiler Blue with minimalist branding for a bold "Music City" look arriving in the 2026 season.
The Tennessee Titans have another uniform combination for fans to admire this season.
The Titans already announced their new uniforms for the 2026 season.
It's a homage to their Houston Oilers roots, with the classic Oiler Blue as the main color for the home jerseys. The away jerseys will be all white with the Oiler Blue on the numbers.
The Titans also changed their logo, moving from the Titans flame concept to a more minimalist approach with a circular logo featuring the three stars for Tennessee's main cities in Oiler Blue.
The Titans have plenty of NFL history and have made some enemies along the way.
The NFL understands how important rivalries are to their respective communities, so they partnered with Nike last year to release the "Rivalries" uniforms. These uniforms are set to continue debuting from 2026-28.
These uniforms are a similar concept to what the MLB does with its City Connect jerseys. This means the Titans' rivalry jersey is supposed to represent the city of Nashville.
The jerseys are expected to be revealed at the end of August and will be worn once per year for the next four seasons.
We don't know how the uniforms will look yet, but we may have gotten a sneak peek on July 1.
A user on X named "1STLooK" posted a pair of Titans-themed Air Max 90s from Nike Official Images and the NFL. They featured a lighter shade of blue and the navy blue that fans have been used to with the previous iteration of the Titans uniforms.
The shoes had the words "Music City" just above the laces and featured the new Titans logo on the soles. The tri stars were also on the back of the shoe.
Based on that tweet, Sports Illustrated's Justin Melo and Justin Graver had uniform insider Zach Cohen on a recent episode of "Music City Audible: A Tennessee Titans Podcast" to go over uniform concepts to give fans an idea of what they could look like.
One concept featured the navy blue uniforms the Titans wore, with the words "Music City" written under the collar. They highlighted another concept Chad Fields shared on X, in which the neon lights of Broadway inspired the uniforms.
If the uniforms are anything like the shoes, Titans fans could be in for a real treat.
The question is, which team would the Titans wear these uniforms against? The obvious choice would be the Houston Texans.
The Titans don't have the best relationship with the Jacksonville Jaguars or Indianapolis Colts either. Still, there is more bad blood with the Texans than any other team in the division.
The two have been connected ever since the Texans became an NFL franchise in 2002. To understand why the franchises don't like each other, we have to go back to the days of the Oilers.
The Oilers were founded in 1960 when they joined the AFL. The AFL and NFL merged in 1970, and the Oilers were a part of the transition.
The Oilers were in Houston from 1960-1996. The decision to leave was tied to former Owner Bud Adams, who fought with the city of Houston to get a new stadium built.
After a long stalemate, Adams decided to move his franchise to Tennessee.
The team changed its name to the Tennessee Oilers in 1997 and played its games that season at the Liberty Bowl in Memphis. Then, as Nashville got closer to completing the stadium, the Oilers played their games at Vanderbilt's football stadium in 1998, before moving to Adelphia Coliseum in 1999.
A few years later, the NFL had a change of heart.
The NFL gave Houston another franchise, adding the Texans to the league in 2002. Since then, both franchises have fought over the right to claim the Houston Oilers.
Current Titans Owner Amy Adams-Strunk added heat to the rivalry in 2022 when she announced that the franchise would wear Oilers throwbacks in the 2023 season.
Naturally, this didn't sit very well with Texans fans and has added to the hatred between the two franchises ever since.
Now, we're here in 2026, and the Titans are still taunting the Texans with their uniforms. This season's edition of the rivalry should have plenty of fans from both teams watching.
