A prominent NFL insider believes one team is aggressively pursuing Titans QB Will Levis. This move could reshape Music City's crowded quarterback room.

The Tennessee Titans made some moves on April Fool's Day, and they turned out to be real.

The team added receiver Lance McCuthcheon, quarterback Hendon Hooker and running back Michael Carter.

For Hooker, the move was a reunion, as he played college football for two seasons with the Tennessee Volunteers under head coach Josh Heupel. He left Knoxville with the eighth-most career passing yards (6,080) in program history.

Hooker also played a big role in snapping the 15-game losing streak to the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2022, in that wild 52-49 win at Neyland Stadium.

Even though Titans and Tennessee fans loved Hooker's addition, the quarterback room in Music City is now very interesting.

Cam Ward is obviously going to be back as the starter in 2026; there's no doubt about that. However, there are now three other quarterbacks on the roster.

Mitchell Trubisky was an earlier free-agent addition. He spent last season with the Buffalo Bills and is a good candidate for the backup role with the Titans.

Trubisky has multiple years of starting experience with the Chicago Bears (2017-2020) and can help Ward continue to develop.

The Detroit Lions drafted Hooker in the 2023 NFL Draft. He was still recovering from the ACL injury he suffered at Tennessee and wasn't activated until December of his rookie season.

He stayed with the Lions for one more season before being waived and joining the Carolina Panthers and New York Jets practice squads.

Then, there's Will Levis, who hasn't played since 2024 after having shoulder surgery.

Now, ESPN's Rich Cimini believes that the Titans quarterback room could get a little smaller this offseason. He named the Jets the team to watch for Levis in a trade.

The Jets already have Geno Smith as a short-term option on the roster, but General Manager Darren Mougey hinted at the team adding another veteran before the 2026 NFL Draft.

Cimini believes Levis has a good chance of being that veteran quarterback.

"They could add a veteran backup before the draft, according to Mougey," Cimini said. "One team to watch is the Tennessee Titans, who have four quarterbacks after adding Mitchell Trubisky and Hendon Hooker. Will Levis, a 2023 second-round pick, could be the odd man out. He didn't play last season due to shoulder surgery, but he's said to be healthy."

When the Titans added Hooker, it became clear that Levis' time with the organization was about to run out. Levis missed the entire 2025 season due to his surgery, and Trubisky is the clear favorite to win the backup quarterback job in Nashville.

If a trade does happen, it would be interesting to see what the Titans could get for a player like Levis. Levis' contract isn't up until the 2027 season unless the team wants to part ways with him prematurely.

He showed upside as a rookie in 2023, starting nine games and throwing for 1,808 passing yards, eight touchdowns and four interceptions. However, he struggled mightily in 2024, finishing with 2,091 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and 12 interceptions.

With Trubisky in position to win the No. 2 quarterback job, and Hooker now in the mix, it's more likely that Levis will be with a new team in 2026. Now the Titans have a potential suitor and can at least secure some compensation for him.
