Fresh off roster cuts, Tennessee bolsters its depth by snagging defensive talent. Track every new addition as the front office retools the sidelines for the upcoming season.
The Tennessee Titans have shifted to the next phase of the offseason now that the preseason is over.
The 53-man roster is out and it's time to make waiver claims.
Here's how waivers work. A player can be waived by a team. If he clears waivers, this means that he'll be an unrestricted free agent.
Most recently, former Titans quarterback Will Levis just cleared waivers after being let go by the organization. Levis did his best to make the team, but couldn't beat Mitchell Trubisky.
Mason Kinsey and Cordell Volson were released as well.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport shared a list on social media of the players who had been claimed in the first phase of waivers. The Titans added three players.
This story will continue to be updated as the Titans keep adding players through waivers.
Here's what we know about them:
LB Owen Pappoe
Owen Pappoe came to the NFL after playing college football at Auburn. He had 256 total tackles, 15 TFLs and eight sacks.
He was drafted in the fifth round by the Arizona Cardinals. He has played in two NFL games so far, with most of his snaps coming from special teams.
He has dealt with hip injuries over the last two years of his NFL career.
It started in 2024 and lingered into 2025.
He was a Will linebacker in Arizona, so expect him to line up off-ball if he sees the field for the Titans.
DB Melvin Smith
Melvin Smith comes to the Titans from the Kansas City Chiefs, adding to the number of players who have previously played for the Chiefs, the New York Giants, or the New York Jets.
Smith played for Southern Arkansas in college and went undrafted in 2025. He signed with the Chiefs and was placed on the practice squad at the end of the training camp.
He was elevated to the active roster in December of last year.
He was listed as a defensive back by Rapoport but was listed on the Chiefs' roster as a cornerback last year.
DT Nazir Stackhouse
Nazir Stackhouse was signed by the Green Bay Packers after going undrafted out of Georgia.
It's surprising that he didn't end up on the Philadelphia Eagles, who have favored Georgia players recently. Nakobe Dean, Jordan Davis, Lewis Cine, Kelee Ringo, and Jalen Carter were all on the Eagles at one point.
Stackhouse was let go by the Packers as a part of final roster cuts.
At Georgia, he accounted for 96 total tackles, nine TFLs, three sacks and one interception.
