A rookie ignited the defense with a dominant interception and sure-handed tackling, sparking a position battle that could shift the landscape of the Titans' linebacker rotation.
With the preseason, it's best to usually take things with a grain of salt.
However, when the Tennessee Titans have the best-performing rookie from the second week of the preseason, that's still worth talking about.
The Titans faced off against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday night. After going down 13-3 in the first half, the defense rebounded and held the Seahawks to just three more points the rest of the way.
Tennessee went on a win 19-16 and remain undefeated in the preseason.
All eyes were on Cam Ward after his struggles in the first game against the San Francisco 49ers. Ward had a better outing, finishing his night going 8-for-12 with 69 passing yards.
He came close to hitting on some explosive plays to Elic Ayomanor and Gunnar Helm that would've made his stats look better.
Either way, he performed much better in game two. One of the Titans rookies stole the show with his night.
Anthony Hill Jr. has been trying to earn his spot in the linebacker rotation and put on a great show. He led the team with seven total tackles and had one of the Titans' three takeaways of the night.
Tennessee recovered a muffed punt and forced two interceptions off of Seahawks backup quarterback Jalen Milroe. The Seahawks tried to run a crossing pattern in the second half, and Hill read it like a book, picking off Milroe.
For his efforts in game two, Hill was the highest-graded rookie of preseason week 2 with a 92.2 per PFF.
Hill had a limited role in the first game but left his mark on Sunday night.
It's not set in stone that he'll beat Cody Barton for the Mike linebacker just yet. We're starting to see why he was predicted to overtake Barton as the preseason goes on.
Barton is by no means an easy player to beat. He just had 81 total tackles, three interceptions, one sack and four TFLs last season.
The one thing that works in Hill's favor is his build. He is a better fit for Robert Saleh's defense thanks to his size and length. He can't win the job on that alone, however.
If Hill continues with another performance like Sunday night's this Saturday, the Titans will have an interesting decision to make about who their starting Mike linebacker will be this year.
It could come down to the wire as the Titans finish the preseason with the Chicago Bears at Nissan Stadium this weekend.
