Tennessee faces a depleted roster against the Bengals as shoulder issues sideline leading receiver Carnell Tate, joining Tyjae Spears and punter Tommy Townsend on the bench.

It's been a long last few days for the Tennessee Titans.

The team traded away Jeffery Simmons to the Chicago Bears and now must refocus, as they face the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.

Before that, we learned who the team will be without for Sunday's matchup. The main injury scare this week was Carnell Tate.

John Franklin-Myers (groin/back), Jaylon Jones (knee), Dorian Mausi (foot), Tony Pollard (rest), Calvin Ridley, Tyjae Spears and Tommy Townsend (knee) were also on the Friday injury report.

Out of those names, Spears and Townsend were both out. Sadly, Tate is also not going to be suiting up for the Titans on Sunday either.

Tate couldn't practice all week because of a shoulder issue. He has been the Titans' leading receiver in four of the last five games. Losing him is a major blow to the receiving corps.

This will be the first time Tate has missed a regular-season game.

For Townsend, it looks like he wasn't able to recover in time from the knee injury that he sustained in the second quarter of the Cleveland Browns game. Townsend punted the ball away, and before his leg returned to the ground, a Browns defender was blocked into him.

Townsend was down on the ground after the play, and Joey Slye assumed the team's punting duties for the rest of the game. The Titans signed veteran punter Thomas Morstead to the practice squad for this reason.

He'll be the starting punter on Sunday while Townsend recovers.

Spears is going to miss his second straight game with a knee injury. It's been nagging him all year, and it's starting to catch up to him. Spears has been on the injury report for the last few weeks, but only recently has the ailment kept him out of games.

It'll be interesting to see if Michael Carter is the backup again or if the Titans go with Nick Singleton.

Franklin-Myers and Pollard were the only other starters on the injury report. Pollard is good to go. The Titans were letting him rest.

Franklin-Myers is a game-time decision. He has yet to miss a game this season.

Jones and Mausi are also going to be game-time decisions. Mausi recently made his return from the injured reserve. Jones looks to play in his third game with the Titans this season.

The Bengals will be a tough challenge for the Titans. The Titans will truly have to pick their poison when it comes to stopping Ja'Marr Chase or Tee Higgins.

The Titans and Bengals meet this Sunday at noon CT on CBS at Paycor Stadium.
