A volatile practice session turned concerning as the high-priced veteran left tackle left with trainers, leaving Tennessee’s offensive line depth under fire following a series of heated altercations.
The Tennessee Titans had a lively practice on Tuesday, to say the least.
For starters, Jeffery Simmons and J.C. Latham had a scuffle. Simmons apparently lost his helmet and even threw a punch at Latham. Wan'Dale Robinson didn't necessarily get involved, but he ended up with the helmet.
On the very next snap, Elic Ayomanor and Marcus Harris got into a scrum after there was hand-fighting over a contested pass. Robert Saleh then stopped practice to talk to the team and cool down before the Titans continued their drills.
There was something else that happened that Titans fans may want to keep track of. It was reported by ESPN's Turron Davenport that left tackle Dan Moore Jr. exited practice accompanied by a trainer.
Saleh later addressed the news at his press conference following practice. So far, we know that Moore's injury is undisclosed and that the Titans will have more updates for us soon.
"We had a couple of injuries," Saleh said. "It was Dan Moore. Who were the other two? There was a couple guys. We're gonna check. All the injuries, we're not exactly sure what they are. We don't know if they're gonna be day-to-day, if it's just gonna be something that happened at practice."
Moore was one of the first major moves that General Manager Mike Borgonzi made after he was hired by the Titans in January of 2025. He joined the Titans in free agency on a four-year, $82 million contract after playing for the Pittsburgh Steelers from 2021-24.
Moore played his college career at Texas A&M from 2017-2020.
He played in eight games as a true freshman in 2017. He earned one start at right tackle against Florida. He then became a starter as a sophomore in 2018 and played in all 13 games.
Moore was the starter his last two years at Texas A&M. He logged 691 snaps at left tackle as a senior in 2020 and played in all 10 games that season.
In his first season with the Titans, Moore played in 16 games. He exited the game against the Cleveland Browns in Week 14 with a neck injury. He missed the following game against the San Francisco 49ers, and Brandon Crenshaw-Dickson started in his place before being replaced by Oli Udoh.
While Moore only missed one game last season, he was not very productive. According to PFF, he ranked 62nd among 89 qualified tackles last season with an overall grade of 61.9.
Hopefully, this is a minor setback, and we can see him back sooner rather than later. The Titans' lack of depth at tackle may reveal itself if he misses significant time.
