With Tennessee eyeing a potential backfield replacement at the draft, the veteran running back remains focused on his family and leading a revamped rushing attack in 2026.

Leading up to the 2026 NFL Draft, there were multiple players linked to the Tennessee Titans at No. 4 overall.

Mock drafts featured Carnell Tate, Arvell Reese, Jeremiyah Love, David Bailey, Sonny Styles and Rueben Bain Jr. this offseason.

The player that seemed like a good bet for the Titans' No. 4 pick was Love. General Manager Mike Borgonzi stated at the NFL Owners Meetings that the team was going to pick the best player available throughout the draft.

Based on the needs that the teams ahead of the Titans had in the draft order, it seemed like Love had a good chance of heading to the Music City.

On draft night, it came down to the wire.

The Las Vegas Raiders picked Indiana quarterback and 2025 Heisman winner Fernando Mendoza just as everyone had thought they would.

The New York Jets took Bailey at No. 2. It all came down to who the Arizona Cardinals would select. Despite having other, more pressing needs, it seems the Cardinals also went with the best-player-available strategy and took Love.

The Titans took Tate No. 4 overall, who has a very high ceiling and is expected to be the No. 1 receiver on the team as a rookie.

One player who hasn't had a chance to weigh in on the Love rumors is Tony Pollard, who will reprise his role as the lead back for the Titans in 2026.

After Friday's practice at OTAs, Pollard was asked how he felt about the rumors of the Titans drafting Love. He didn't seem very worried about them, stating that he understood that the NFL is a business and always trying to replace you.

"I know in this league it's their job to try and replace you. So, I know what comes with the business aspect of it. But to be honest, I wasn't really paying attention to it. Not much. I seen it, but I got a wife, three kids. My wife's pregnant, so I got a lot of things that keep me occupied. So, it wasn't hard to work. No, not too much."

Hopefully, the Titans have done enough to improve their rushing attack. Despite Pollard's second consecutive 1,000-yard season in 2025, Tennessee had the third-fewest rushing yards per game (93.5).

The Titans have added running backs through free agency and the draft. The Titans signed former Cardinals RB Michael Carter and drafted Nicholas Singleton out of Penn State.

To help take the pressure off of Cam Ward, the Titans must be a better team on the ground this year.
