Coach Robert Saleh confirms the first-team unit will suit up at Nissan Stadium, balancing vital repetitions against the defending champions with a need for player preservation.
We are closing in on the Tennessee Titans' second preseason game of the year.
After going on the road and getting a win over the San Francisco 49ers, the Titans must now face the reigning Super Bowl Champion Seattle Seahawks at Nissan Stadium.
The 19-13 win over the 49ers wasn't perfect. The Titans struggled after that first offensive drive in which they went 95 yards for a touchdown on 11 plays.
The defense didn't look its best either, with the Titans struggling to contain receivers De'Zhaun Stribling and Jordan Watkins for most of the game.
The run defense looked very solid, with the Titans holding the 49ers to 84 rushing yards as a team. The player with the most rushing yards for the 49ers was Sincere McCormick with 38.
The Titans and Seahawks got a look at each other before Sunday's game at joint practice on Friday. The team as a whole had a much-needed rebound versus the defending champs.
The offense looked smooth, and the defense had a great showing. Cornerback Alontae Taylor even had a pick-six off Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold.
Robert Saleh showed fans that he isn't afraid to play the starters in the preseason. The first-team offense and defense were out there for multiple series.
It looks like that's going to be the plan once again with the Seahawks in town. Saleh opened his press conference on Friday by stating that all players are going to be available for the contest.
"Everyone should be available for the game." Saleh said.
There may be a change from how the Titans handled reps in the last game. Saleh was pleased with how his team competed against the Seahawks, so he said there could be fewer reps for the starters on Sunday night.
"Same as last," Saleh said. "We're all playing. The number? I don't know. We got a lot of work in today, so it might be shorter. Might be longer. I'm not quite sure how I'm going to handle it yet."
It doesn't get any easier for the Titans, as they now have to face the Seahawks. The good news is that it will be a home game this time around.
It's uncertain how many of the Seahawks starters will see the field at Nissan Stadium. Either way, it should be a fun watch.
The Titans look to defend their home stadium for the first time this year on Sunday night.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. CT on Fox.
