After already missing five game this season due to injuries, Vikings starting quarterback J.J. McCarthy now finds himself in concussion protocol following Sunday's 23-6 loss to the Green Bay Packers. Head coach Kevin O'Connell confirmed the development after symptoms were reported on the flight back to Minnesota.

The news of McCarthy's latest injury concern only magnifies an already disastrous season at 4-7 and no feasible pathway to competitiveness to end the year.

It also has the potential to accelerate any thought of whether or not Minnesota should be in the market for another quarterback heading into this offseason, seeing as though the team is built to be a playoff contender at the bare minimum.

Do you think McCarthy sees the field anymore this season? Does the growing injury history of McCarthy lead to internal discussions to potentially pivot away from the former first-round draft pick out of Michigan? Let us know in the comment section below.
