The Minnesota Vikings struggled in Sunday's 19-17 loss to their fellow NFC North counterparts in the Chicago Bears. The loss makes it their fourth in the last five games. Even worse, second year signal caller J.J. McCarthy is at the center of it all, as he has either been unavailable due to injuries or being highly inconsistent on the football field.

This was evidenced even further on Sunday with his two interceptions, giving him three games in a row with at least one turnover and his second consecutive contest with two.

Whether it is McCarthy, or his alter ego "9", the fact is the Vikings fanbase has grown impatient as of late and want to see better on-field results from the franchise quarterback.

In a piece recapping yesterday's contest, ESPN's Kevin Seifert phrased it as, "boos rained down on J.J. McCarthy midway through the third quarter Sunday at U.S. Bank Stadium." He went on the call yesterday's game "miserable" for McCarthy.

"As the fourth quarter began, he had completed 10 of 22 passes for 74 yards and two interceptions. His rate of off-target throws was an astronomical 32% at that point.", Seifert recounted.

With that now in the rearview mirror, the Vikings are now 4-6, firmly at the bottom of the NFC North and are now one of the worst teams in the entire NFC (if not the NFL).

With seven games left, could McCarthy and the Vikings find a way to turn things around and be competitive? Or, should they prepare for a top-10 pick in the 2026 draft?
