Savor the undefeated start by scouting the NFC landscape. Monitor division rivals in Green Bay and Chicago while watching the 49ers battle for conference supremacy this Sunday.

The Minnesota Vikings enter the bye week with a perfect 5-0 record to start the season. The bye week always comes at the right time, some suggest, but in Minnesota's case that notion is still to be seen.

The Vikings are rolling. Rather than continuing to dominate, the bye acts like a momentum stalling time out on the year. We'll see how the team responds in Week 7.

Until then, the Vikings will have a week to observe other teams around the league. A handful of relevant games stand out.

One game of particular interest is the game between the Green Bay Packers and Dallas Cowboys. Currently, the Packers sit in second place in the NFC North behind the Vikings. A loss could further increase the divide between the Vikings and Packers.

Rob Demovsky of ESPN outlined what the rival Packers are expecting heading into a non-divisional rivalry game against the Dallas Cowboys. Here's some of what Demovsky wrote about the mentality coming from the Packers locker room.

The way QB Jordan Love talked this week, the Packers are expecting another high-scoring game like the one they had at Dallas last season. It ended in a 40-40 tie, but the Packers almost ran out of time before they could kick the tying field goal at the end of overtime. Love said the last play from scrimmage before the field goal was problematic because players weren't lined up correctly and his pass was broken up in the end zone, leaving only one second left. 'End of game, everybody's got to be dialed in, locked in, especially when it's a close game with how much time is left on the clock, what the situation is, what we're trying to do,' Love said this week. 'We learned.'"

Fellow divisional foe Chicago faces the Atlanta Falcons this weekend. The Bears should win that game, though, with starting quarterback Caleb Williams potentially out with injury.

Another sneaky matchup is the one between the San Francisco 49ers (5-0) and the Washington Commanders (1-3-1).

The Niners are the only team really seeming to challenge the Vikings for the No. 1 spot in the NFC so far. That's not to say that the current NFC outlook is fixed, but it is to say that Vikings fans may want to see if the Niners can stay in the win column or lose and put Minnesota alone as the NFC's top seed.

The Vikings will hope to see things go their way as Week 6 unfolds.
