The Saints defense, which has struggled for the better part of four games, stifled the Vikings offense in the first half, limiting the team to just six points in the first half. In need of a big play, the Vikings kicked off to start the second half.

Entering the matchup, it was a tale of two very different teams. The Vikings maximized opportunities on the way to four straight victories, while the Saints squandered scores with poor defensive play. That trend continued to start the second half.

On the opening kickoff, the Vikings sent the ball back to the Saints kickoff returner who fielded the ball and ran middle. Running into the teeth of the Vikings punt coverage, the Saints' kick returner and cornerback Jayden Price was met by a sea of purple and white uniforms. The Vikings promptly knocked the ball out and jumped on it to take possession again.
