Despite a perfect 6-0 start, offensive flaws threaten Minnesota’s Super Bowl ambitions. Insiders suggest a bold mid-season trade for backfield depth or interior line reinforcements to fortify the roster.
The Minnesota Vikings could not have asked for a better start to the year. They sit at a perfect, 6-0 record. And while they probably could have asked for a better offense, the defense has been enough to make them the only undefeated team through seven weeks.
Despite the good start, some are looking ahead to what could go wrong if the offense doesn't improve. Against better teams, defense may not be enough on its own. With that some project the Vikings to make a big move on offense, but not necessarily only through free agency. Minnesota might make a trade.
ClutchPoints' Troy Finnegan contends that the Vikings may be in the market for a trade or free agent addition to improve their squad. Here's some of what Finnegan wrote on the Vikings at this juncture of the season.
"The Minnesota Vikings are the last remaining unbeaten team in the NFL at 6-0 after a wild Week 7 Sunday that saw both the San Francisco 49ers and the Kansas City Chiefs suffer their first defeats of the season. However, despite the best record in the league, the Vikings have shown some flaws that could come back to bite them late in the season.
Most of those flaws come on the offensive side of the ball. Brian Flores' defense has been arguably the best in the NFL so far this year, but the offense has been uneven in its first season with Kyler Murray at the helm.
Of course, the NFL trade deadline is still approaching. The Vikings could be a team looking to buy at the deadline to address some of their weaknesses. After an ugly 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday, Vikings insider Alec Lewis from The Athletic floated the idea of a trade."

Quality players at those positions are not easy to find nor are they easy to part with. Still a team that is out of contention may be willing to entertain a trade.
The Vikings may not have a pressing need to make a change, depending on who you ask. Still, they could certainly benefit from adding an impact running back or another offensive lineman, or two, before the mid-November trade deadline. We'll keep an eye on what moves they consider.
