Despite an undefeated start fueled by aggressive defense, skeptics argue soft scheduling and injury-depleted opponents mask vulnerabilities as the Vikings face a brutal stretch of divisional showdowns.
The NFL season has been unpredictable to say the least. The Minnesota Vikings (6-0) are the only unbeaten team in the National Football League. Just like we all predicted, right?
The unforeseen dominance has been a welcomed surprise. And though we did predict that the Vikings would win the NFC North, it's hard to say anybody had the team being the only undefeated team after Week 7.
Defense has keyed the Vikings' hot start as the aggressive Minnesota attack has left opposition lost for solutions to beating their pressures. It has many NFL analysts buzzing about how a team with so little offensive output cannot be beaten.
Ariana Pensy of Touchdown Wire discussed the surprise start to the year. Here's what Pensy had to say about the Vikings' perfect first six games.
"For Minnesota, it is impressive to win the first six games of the season. However, they have had a relatively easy schedule. Their most impressive win was against the Green Bay Packers, who collapsed in the fourth quarter. They also defeated the Chicago Bears; quarterback Caleb Williams was injured in that game. Minnesota also has one-possession wins against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers without Baker Mayfield, the Miami Dolphins without De’Von Achane, and the Indianapolis Colts without Sauce Gardner.
Minnesota’s next four games are against teams with a winning record. They also face the Falcons and the Carolina Panthers, both highly competitive teams. The Vikings also have four division games left. Every team in the NFC North has a winning record, so their division games will be tough. In other words, Minnesota’s current success doesn't seem sustainable."

Mandatory Credit: Brad Rempel-Imagn ImagesTo suggest the Vikings had an easy schedule doesn't necessarily do credit to what they accomplished. To start, they defeated a high potential Packers team and made it happen with their backup quarterback. Minnesota also had even footing against the Chicago Bears as backup quarterback Carson Wentz defeated Chicago without Caleb Williams.
Add in a win over the NFC East's first place New York Giants (4-2-1) and the team has earned its 6-0 record. However, the schedule will indeed get tougher.
Minnesota will now have to stop Atlanta running back Bijan Robinson after allowing a 38-yard touchdown to Colts running back Jonathan Taylor in Week 7. They will also have to face the Packers and Bears again in addition to two meetings with Dan Campbell's Detroit Lions.
The NFL will watch with anticipation as the Vikings look to hold onto their perfect record through Week 8.
