Despite a flawless 5-0 start, questions surround high-profile signing Jauan Jennings after another quiet performance. While Justin Jefferson remains elite, Minnesota's secondary receiving options are under fire.

It's all positive vibes in the Twin Cities after Sunday. The Minnesota Vikings improved to a perfect, 5-0 record with a 23-13 win over the New Orleans Saints.

Now, the Vikings sit in first place in the NFC North. Who could have predicted that? We'll see if it holds, but so far that prediction is looking good.

What isn't looking good is the Minnesota receiving corps behind Justin Jefferson. One NFL analyst is not impressed with the Vikings' newest big name wide receiver addition in Jauan Jennings.

The Vikings signed Jennings as a free agent after Jennings broke out for the San Francisco 49ers in 2025. Albeit, even in his breakout, we noted that fellow Vikings wideout Jordan Addison has been a more productive player in Minnesota than Jennings in San Francisco over the last three seasons.

Adam Carlson discussed Jennings' performance among others in the 23-13 win. He had strong analysis for Jennings' lack of production through five games.

"Another week, another dud from Jennings. At this point, it is hard to know what is holding the former 49ers receiver back from contributing in Minnesota. Also, Jennings is being outplayed by Tai Felton and Jeshaun Jones, which is not good.

Jennings was the only Vikings player to be targeted by Murray and not catch a pass. He now has two catches on four targets for nine yards this season, which likely has general manager Nolan Teasley wondering why he signed the free-agent pass catcher in the first place."

Minnesota's top pass catcher received a drastically different review. Vikings wideout Justin Jefferson beat triple coverage to break the Vikings' streak of several quarters of football without a touchdown. Carlson named him a stud of the game with the following analysis.

"For a player who was questionable on the injury report, Jefferson looked ready to go against the Saints. The superstar wide receiver was targeted seven times by Kyler Murray and caught six of those for 79 yards and a touchdown.

Seeing Minnesota get into the end zone on Sunday was a thing of beauty, especially with how much the Vikings have struggled offensively lately. Seeing Murray trust Jefferson in a crowd of New Orleans defenders in the back corner of the end zone was both surprising and welcome."

Jefferson is capable of carrying the Vikings' receiver room. That's business as usual for Minnesota's star receiver. Still, we'd like to see more from the Vikings' new addition, Jennings, to complement arguably the league's best receiver.

Jennings will hope to break out as the season progresses.
