Although the Vikings aren't going to the playoffs, the last two weeks have been fun for Kevin O'Connell and their offense. Minnesota is looking to carry momentum into 2026 with J.J. McCarthy and Sunday night's game was another 30-point output. The good news is Minnesota did their part in ending Dallas' chances at a playoff berth as well.
Who got the highest and lowest grades from Pro Football Focus from Sunday's win?
Offense: QB J.J. McCarthy (89.7) & LG Donovan Jackson (46.2)
McCarthy continues to stack nice performances and finished with a passing grade of 90.5 despite throwing an interception on his first throw of the night. With an 11 ADOT and 11.5 BBT%, McCarthy was pretty sharp on Sunday. Although the interception counts, it wasn't counted as a TWP, for what it's worth. On 20-plus yard throws, the young QB excelled with 130 yards on 4/6 passing and a touchdown. That's the type of play to get excited about.
On the other side, left guard Donovan Jackson was dinged with a 19.6 pass blocking grade. On 55 snaps, Jackson allowed two pressures and two hurries. In true pass sets (no screens or play action), Jackson finished with a 0.0 grade. Ouch.
Other notable Vikings offensive players include WR Jalen Nailor (89.7), TE T.J. Hockenson (82.4), RT Brian O'Neill (74.3), and C Ryan Kelly (70.6).
Defense: EDGE Jonathan Greenard (90.5) & DT Jonathan Allen (27.6)
Unfortunately, Greenard's season is over with a shoulder injury, but what a way to finish his season. Seven pressures, two sacks, a QB hit, four hurries, a tackle, and two defensive stops. Incredible performance for the EDGE rusher. In true pass sets, Greenard totaled five pressures, two sacks, a hurry, and two pressures. His 93.8 pass-rushing grade led the team. Greenard finishes with 47 pressures, four sacks, eight QB hits, 35 hurries, and a 77.6 pass rushing grade.
The other Jonathan, Allen that is, wasn't treated as kindly by PFF. Allen did generate a pressure and a hurry, but was crushed with a 24.5 run defense grade to go with his overall 27.6 defensive grade. While he had a team-low run defense grade, Allen faired well as a pass rusher with a grade of 62.8.
Other notable Vikings defenders were CB Fabian Moreau (79.6), LB Eric Wilson (78.7, five pressures, four hurries, and a QB hit), DL Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins (73.7), and DL Jalen Redmond (72.5).
