Tragedy struck on Saturday night.

In what is heartbreaking news, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Rondale Moore has died at 25, according to authorities and multiple reports.

The Floyd County Coroner confirmed Moore’s death after he was found deceased on Saturday, Feb. 21, 2026, in New Albany, Indiana, his hometown. Local law enforcement said the case remains under investigation, and an autopsy is expected as authorities work to determine an official cause of death.

In a statement, New Albany police indicated Moore’s death is being treated as a suspected self-inflicted gunshot wound, though officials emphasized that the investigation is ongoing.

Moore was one of the most electric playmakers in college football during his time at Purdue, earning national recognition early in his career and establishing himself as a dynamic threat in space. He entered the NFL as a second-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, selected No. 49 overall by the Arizona Cardinals, where he played three seasons before a brief stop with the Atlanta Falcons.

Moore later signed with the Vikings ahead of the 2025 season, but injuries limited his time on the field, including a knee injury suffered during the preseason that kept him on injured reserve.

Tributes began pouring in Saturday night from across the football world, including from former Purdue head coach Jeff Brohm, who described Moore as a joyful presence, fierce competitor and beloved teammate.
