An analyst urges the Vikings to make a bold move, potentially acquiring Notre Dame's blazing-fast running back prospect for a game-changing offense.

NFL rumors are abundant as we approach the 2026 NFL draft. Several teams are being mentioned for one star running back. Now, the Vikings are one of those teams.

Notre Dame star Jeremiyah Love is one of the stories of the early NFL draft process. His hype continued after running a blazing fast forty-yard dash for his frame. One expert says the Vikings should go all in to trade up for the player.

NFL Network analyst and former NFL scout Daniel Jeremiah detailed why the Vikings should make the move to add Love. He shared the following.

“This is the scenario I want to pose to you guys. I was looking at this as it relates to the draft. What if you’re a Minnesota Vikings fan and you look up next year and you’ve got Kyler Murray at quarterback, you’ve got Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, and you’re all sitting there with pick number 18.

You look at the way this draft is shaking out, and you look at a team like Washington, picking 7th. Washington, at that point in time, they do not have a second-round pick, they do not have a fourth-round pick, they only have six picks overall. I think there’s a way Minnesota could get from 18 to 7 without even parting with next year’s one. They have two threes this year, could be a second round pick next year. If I told you next year the Minnesota Vikings have Kyler Murray at quarterback, Jeremiyah Love at running back, Jordan Addison and Justin Jefferson, would you sign up to watch that offense?”

Given how poorly the Vikings have drafted of late, adding a sure-fire starter and quality playmaker at running back might be worth the move. The Vikings need talent at the running back position and lacked consistent production there. Given their salary cap situation, it might be beneficial for the team to add a less expensive running back to the roster who could bring significant value.

If the team is able to pull off the move and sign a quality quarterback in free agency, we could see a completely transformed Minnesota offense. No more lack of playmaking ceiling, although the offensive line would play a role in the players' effectiveness.

What is clear is that the team is set for a big breakout if they play their cards right this offseason. We'll keep an eye on what moves they make the next few weeks.
