Vikings’ Justin Jefferson Has Plenty To Say At The Super Bowl cover image

The star wide receiver touched on any and every topic under the sun for the Vikings

Radio Row in San Francisco is swarming with the NFL world. Sunday is the Super Bowl and the final game, but the football world is all over the place in the Bay Area. As NFL news and rumors trickle out from insiders, sometimes players give out impactful nuggets, and Justin Jefferson has been very vocal on many topics.

When asked by USA Today about how the 2025 season could have gone with Sam Darnold returning to Minnesota, Jefferson gave a very frank and real response.

"Everyone knows the difficulty of the quarterback position this year, how we were dealt it," Jefferson told USA TODAY Sports. "But having a quarterback that already had a season under his belt with us, knew the plays, knew the playbook, knew the players, throwing to me, Jordan Addison, T.J. Hockenson, all these guys, I definitely feel like we would have done better."

However, Jefferson did say he supports J.J. McCarthy after his comments gained traction.

In a separate interview, Jefferson admitted that he "has no idea" how he gained 1,000 receiving yards with the struggles for the Vikings offense. You have to admit, it is strange to hear the receiver speak that way about his team and quarterback.

CBS Sports’ Garrett Podell speculated that a reunion with Kirk Cousins could be the best move for both teams.

“The Atlanta Falcons are under new management after hiring franchise legend Matt Ryan as their team president and Kevin Stefanski as their new coach,” Podell wrote. “Trading Cousins back to the Vikings could be a win for all parties involved.”

Jefferson wasn't done. What would his radio tour be without sparking a trade debate or idea?

The Buffalo Bills hired Jefferson's former WR coach, and the speculation has grown.

"A trade for the former All-Pro would solve the Bills’ woes at one of the most important positions in football. And even if landing Jefferson is a long shot, crazier things have happened," Alex Brasky of Buffalo Bills on SI wrote. "Whereas, if you look at the Bills' WR corps since the team traded former No. 1 Stefon Diggs after the 2023 season, the team's leader has been Khalil Shakir, whose high watermark has been 821 yards, set in 2024. Allen has been desperately craving a top-tier pass catcher on the outside, and Jefferson would fulfill that role as one of the most dynamic WRs in all of football."

The offseason will not be easy to navigate. This is all just getting started.
