The Minnesota Vikings hot takes are out in full force this week. The opinions on the team are wide ranging and strong in either direction.
Some have gone out on a limb to predict that Minnesota would go out and win the NFC North division. Still others believe the Vikings have too much to prove before they can get any benefit of the doubt.
Bring Me the Sports' Will Ragatz made his thoughts clear on Minnesota quarterback Kyler Murray. Ragatz opined that Murray would be in for a career best season with the Vikings in 2026. Here's what he had to say about Murray's anticipated breakout.
"The Vikings’ new starting quarterback experienced the highs of success at times during an up-and-down seven-year career with the Cardinals. In just his first three seasons, the former No. 1 overall pick was the offensive rookie of the year and made two Pro Bowls. Injuries and inconsistency have been part of his story since then, but Murray showed in 2024 that he can still play at a very high level. He now enters the best situation he’s ever been in.
With Kevin O’Connell in his ear and guys like Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison running routes, Murray knows he just needs to be himself and do his job. He’s a talented, experienced player who I think is going to thrive this season if he stays healthy. In 2022, the NFL changed the MVP voting process, requiring voters to rank their top five choices instead of picking one player. Murray, who may have gotten a few down-ballot votes in 2021 under the current system, will get at least one fifth-place vote this year."

It feels bold to suggest that Kyler Murray will be in the MVP race for the first time in his career.
Murray has proven capable of passing for just under 4,000 yards in a season. He also has the highlight reel of impressive throws to anticipate more NFL success. Even so, passing for 3,800 yards and competing for an NFL MVP honor are two different things.
Murray will have never had the caliber of receiver corps he is about to have in Minnesota. He will look to make the most of it as the Vikings open with the Green Bay Packers.
