Several players for the Minnesota Vikings have been in the news this offseason. One of those players is Vikings wide receiver Jordan Addison.
The Vikings are looking to upgrade their roster in 2026, but it's unclear who will return from the team next season. As they look to make financially prudent decisions, the franchise might need to play salary cap Tetris to make sure that they are good financially not only this year but in the next few years as well.
One way the Vikings can set themselves up for success is through trades. Tyler Forness of A-to-Z Sports is suggesting that the team could trade wide receiver Jordan Addison for another draft pick. He made the following prediction for the team.
"With the Minnesota Vikings at a crossroads after a tough 9-8 season, there are a lot of different routes they can go. One that many are looking at is a trade of wide receiver Jordan Addison.
The best move is to sign him to an extension sooner rather than later, but his off-the-field issues could prompt the Vikings to trade him. If they do, a deal relatively similar to what the Arizona Cardinals gave up for Hollywood Brown. While Brown put up good numbers with the Baltimore Ravens, Addison was hyper productive with Justin Jefferson on the other side, and is arguably a better player.
The Cardinals gave up the 23rd overall pick for Brown, and they got back pick 100. That's a good baseline to go off of, and the New England Patriots can offer something similar.
Patriots get: Jordan Addison, 97th overall
Vikings get: 31st overall and 125th overall"

Brad Rempel-Imagn ImagesIs Jordan Addison worth the No. 31 pick in the NFL draft? That may be the contention for some who observe the trade. With rumors that Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray would only command a second-round pick, sending Addison for a first rounder seems like a steep price for New England. Especially considering how productive Murray has been in the league, his contract notwithstanding.
Whether or not the Vikings would accept the trade seems inarguable. Forness predicts Minnesota would add Texas A&M wide receiver KC Concepcion with the No. 18 pick and then take Georgia defensive lineman Christen Miller at No. 31. In the process they would add a replacement for Addison in Concepcion and then add a defensive tackle for returning defensive coordinator Brian Flores.
Could the trade happen? It's possible. It depends on how badly the Patriots want a wide receiver and how much they value Addison.
The Vikings will look to make significant moves as they push for the playoffs in 2026.
