Explosive offensive forecasts suggest Minnesota could rack up 450 yards in Chicago as Jordan Addison looks to capitalize on defensive lapses and a high-stakes divisional showdown.
The Minnesota Vikings take on the Chicago Bears this weekend. Needless to say, it's a huge game.
The Vikings and Bears have long been considered a strong secondary rivalry, with both teams perhaps viewing the Packers as their primary rival. This game, though, has significant playoff implications.
If you watched any NFC North action, it appears that the Bears, Vikings and Lions are all on the upward trend while the Packers are falling off. And while each team having played one game does not tell everything, it can be a valuable barometer.
Andrew Buller-Russ of Sportsnaut made several bold predictions about how the game will turn out. One prediction suggests it will be the Vikings offense that wins the day for the team. Here's what Buller-Russ said about the Vikings' chances of ammassing 450 yards this weekend.
"While their starting QB was ruled out with an injury in the first quarter, the Vikings only managed to record 239 yards on offense. It's hard to imagine the Vikings' starting QB performing worse in Week 2, which should lead to a more consistent overall effort. Meanwhile, the Bears allowed 478 yards against them last week. Facing Justin Jefferson, combined with a reformed Kevin O'Connell that showed a heavy commitment to the running game in Week 1 (34 rushing attempts), the Vikings should be better positioned to find more offensive success in Chicago."
Buller-Russ believes Jordan Addison could be a huge factor. Here's what he said about Addison potentially adding 100 yards against the Bears secondary.
One player who was surprisingly not a factor in last week's win is Jordan Addison, who saw two targets but didn't catch either one. If the Bears try to focus too much on stopping Jefferson, it should only open up more opportunities for the fourth-year receiver who has recorded a respectable 2,396 yards since becoming a first-round pick in 2023. Addison was open last Sunday, now it's just a matter of making sure his quarterback sees him.

Backup quarterback Carson Wentz steps in with an opportunity to get all three of the Vikings' dynamic trio, Addison, Justin Jefferson and Jauan Jennings, all involved in the game.
Minnesota's embarrassment of riches at wide receiver should get somebody open when the Vikings drop back to pass. We will keep a close eye on which players emerge when Minnesota plays in Week 2.
