Vikings Sign Offensive Tackle Tristan Leigh To Practice Squad

Minnesota adds tackle Tristan Leigh as Christian Darrisaw enters concussion protocol ahead of Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans.

The Minnesota Vikings added more depth to their offensive line Wednesday, signing offensive tackle Tristan Leigh to the practice squad.

The move comes as Minnesota deals with injuries along the offensive line. Left guard Donovan Jackson was placed on injured reserve Tuesday after suffering a torn meniscus against the Miami Dolphins, while left tackle Christian Darrisaw is currently in concussion protocol.

The Vikings originally signed Leigh as an undrafted free agent out of Clemson following the 2026 NFL Draft.

The 23-year-old spent the preseason with Minnesota and appeared in all three preseason games before being waived during initial 53-man roster cutdowns. He was initially signed to the practice squad again before being released again in September.

Now, Leigh gets another opportunity with the Vikings as the team deals with additional uncertainty along its offensive line.

Leigh was a five-star recruit coming out of high school and spent five seasons at Clemson. He played 2,202 offensive snaps across 42 games for the Tigers, starting 33 of them.

In 2025, Leigh served as one of Clemson's captains and started all 10 games he appeared in. He primarily played left tackle during his college career and entered the NFL with experience at both tackle spots.

During the preseason, Leigh saw action at both left and right tackle. His familiarity with Minnesota's system could be valuable now that the team is bringing him back during the regular season.

The timing of the move is particularly notable given the Vikings' current injury situation. Jackson is now headed to injured reserve, while Darrisaw's availability for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints remains uncertain because of his concussion.

That leaves Minnesota needing additional depth and flexibility up front, so bringing in a player who is relatively familiar with the operation in the building could be beneficial considering the needed insurance.

Leigh is unlikely to immediately step into a starting role, but returning to the place he started his NFL journey gives him another chance to develop within the Vikings' offensive line room.

For Leigh, this is another chance to work toward his dream of making his NFL debut. For the Vikings, it provides added depth at a position facing uncertainty heading into Week 5 against the Saints.

The move may not have an immediate impact on Sunday’s matchup, but if Minnesota needs help along the offensive line, his familiarity with the organization could make him a more viable option than starting from scratch.
