The former Georgia standout backed up the praise with an impressive showing during OTA's.
Minnesota Vikings' undrafted rookie wide receiver Dillon Bell is beginning to generate attention before even playing a single snap in the NFL.
According to Alec Lewis of The Athletic, one NFC executive singled Bell out as the most talented player among the Minnesota's 2026 undrafted free agent class. While anonymous evaluations are always worth taking with grain of salt, the endorsement carries weight considering Bell has yet to step foot on an NFL field, as well as his versatility and productive college career at Georgia.
The praise also aligns with what was seen during the Vikings' offseason program. Bell was one of the team's most productive offensive players throughout OTAs. The 22-year-old rookie consistently found ways to get open and make plays. His reliable skillset stood out as he quickly established himself.
After going undrafted despite a strong collegiate tenure with the Georgia Bulldogs, Bell has entered training camp with plenty to prove. However, he has already made a strong case that he belongs in the conversation for a spot on the Vikings' initial 53-man roster.
At Georgia, Bell was one of the Bulldogs' most versatile offensive weapons. He contributed as both a receiver and runner, lining up in multiple positions and creating mismatches with his athleticism.
Offensive-minded head coach Kevin O'Connell frequently utilizes motion, creative formations and personnel flexibility, which are areas where Bell could carve out a role if he continues his development.
Of course, the path from standout OTA performer to regular-season contributor is far from guaranteed. As an undrafted free agent, you'll always have an uphill climb to the roster. Bell still faces stiff competition in a crowded receiver room led by established veterans like Justin Jefferson, Jordan Addison and Jauan Jennings
Special teams could ultimately become the deciding factor for Bell. Undrafted players often secure roster spots by proving they can contribute on kick coverage, punt coverage and return units while continuing to develop offensively with the scout team.
For a Vikings team that has consistently found underrated playmakers through the draft and updraft free agency process, Bell could become the latest success story. There is still plenty of work ahead before roster decisions are finalized, but his strong OTA performance has ensured he will be one of the more closely watched undrafted rookies throughout training camp.
If he continues to build on his impressive offseason, Bell could force the Vikings to find room for him when final roster cuts arrive.
