Myles Turner was only 19 years old when he was drafted by the Indiana Pacers in the 2015 NBA Draft with the 11th overall pick. He spent 10 seasons in Indianapolis, and to say he grew up there — and became a man there — is a massive understatement.

He scored 9,031 points in an Indiana uniform and another 910 during seven playoff runs, including a year ago when the Pacers made it all the way to Game 7 of the NBA Finals. He had a lot to do with that.

But when the season ended, so did Turner's time with the Pacers. As a free agent, he could have stayed home, but instead bolted for the Milwaukee Bucks for a few extra dollars. And on the way out the door, he made sure he let everyone know how glad he was to be leaving Indiana and the Pacers.

The Bucks and Pacers played each other on Monday night, and the Bucks won 117-115. But the story was Turner's return — and the reaction to him by Pacers fans, who booed him all night long.

Pacers Roundtable publisher Bob Kravitz didn't think that was right. And even though Turner's exit has been annoying, Kravitz thought the boos were unnecessary, especially for a player who did mostly good things in Indiana for a decade.

Here's is Bob Kravitz's column. It's a must read from the Roundtable Sports columnist.

Bob Kravitz: Pacers Boo Turner With Gusto, And It's A Bad Look For A Fanbase Who Once Loved Him Bob Kravitz: Pacers Boo Turner With Gusto, And It's A Bad Look For A Fanbase Who Once Loved Him Clearly, Myles Turner misspoke, or at least he was less than precise with his language. When he talked about wanting to be in a city where he would be "celebrated," it was easy to see how Indiana fans might think that was a direct shot at them. (Narrator's voice: It was not. He was referencing the front office and Pacers ownership.)

Turner played 32 minutes and had nine points on 3-of-7 shooting for the Bucks, who are now 5-3 in the season. The Pacers, missing several starters this season from their NBA finals team, are just 1-6.

Do they miss Turner? Sure, they do. But free agents are free agents for a reason, and they are the ones that get to make decisions on their own futures. Turner did exactly that, and Pacers fans don't like it.

If he had left gracefully, maybe they would have treated him differently on Monday night. But he didn't, so they booed. As Kravitz said, they certainly had that right.

But it all could have been so much different. It's not, so we deal with it.
