Fast times, tight ropes, and fierce competition crowned champions. See how cowboys and cowgirls conquered the arena for top payouts.

Oklahoma City cheered cowboys and cowgirls on to victory on Championship Sunday at the OG&E Coliseum at the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds. This final round of the Oklahoma City Pro Rodeo, produced by McCoy Rodeo and Tractor Supply, saw fast runs and tight ropes as contestants vied for the final payouts.

The stock stole the show with strong performances from bucking bulls and horses, speedy calves, and strong steers. McCoy Rodeo, Mo Betta Rodeo, Generations Pro Rodeo, and JJ Miller were responsible for supplying the fine livestock and increasing the difficulty for competitors.

The bulls were so tough that nobody made a qualified ride, but there were many cowboys that left determined the next time they paired up with those bulls they’d claim their 8 seconds of glory.

The leading steer wrestlers all clocked in 4 second runs, with the fastest time going to Hazen Sparks with a 4.2 second run. This run earned Sparks $968. Just behind Sparks was Adam Musil with a 4.3 second run and an $801 paycheck, followed by Chris Bechthold with a 4.6 second run and a $634 payout.

The all around cowboy of the event was Paul David Tierney, a household name in the cowboy world. Tierney put on a powerful show in the tie-down roping and the team roping, earning him this versatile title and a paycheck of $1,545.
