Pink Buckle Announces New $10,000 Average Sidepot for Open-Only Barrel Racers

The 2025 Pink Buckle Race will be held at Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, Okla. on October 5-12 (with the horse sale happening on October 9). While it is primarily known for a huge futurity and derby payout, the Pink Buckle just released an amazing opportunity for the Open 5D Only contestants. 

Red River Equine LLC, based out of Thackerville, Okla., graciously donated $10,000 to an average side pot. This is an exclusive side pot for the Open entries with 100% payback on a $250 entry fee. This will not replace the open average that Pink Buckle already offers, but just adds another opportunity to win money without making an additional run. 

This year the Pink Buckle Race has a guaranteed payout of $4.2 million between the futurity, derby, open and youth. Each class makes two runs so there are ample opportunities to make money. 

They also offer a plethora of additional sidepots for contestants to enter so they can have other chances to win more money without making another run on their horse. Some of the ones they offer are a youth incentive, a non-pro, owner/rider (the owner is also the rider), along with many others! 

The incentive program is based around the stallions for those who don’t know how this race works. The Pink Buckle has approved stallions that your horses must be by. You also have to keep paying your horse into their incentive program annually in order to run at their race.
