The Wrangler National Finals Rodeo presented by Teton Ridge, did not disappoint during the fourth round of team roping.
Clint Summers and Jake Long claimed go-round wins for the third night out of four, only missing one night at the South Point Hotel & Casino for the buckle ceremony.
Summers, 32, of Lake City, Fla., jumped to the No. 1 spot among the headers, knocking out two-time and defending world champion Kaleb Driggers to the No. 4 spot and two-time NFR qualifier Nelson Wyatt in No. 2. Tyler Wade made his way into the No. 3 spot.
Long, 34, of Coffeyville, Kans., made his way into the No. 1 spot among the heelers, less than $3,000 ahead 2019 world champ Wesley Thorp in the No. 2 spot. Junior Nogueira remained stale in the standings with their 9.3-second run for the night.
With more than $90,000 per man in earnings in four days for Summer and Long, the team is taking advantage of the bigger purse this year.
Tyler Wade and Wesley Thorp are in close pursuit of that No. 1 spot. Wade trying to claim his first world championship title and Thorp his second.
