With a new documentary set to stream, Teton Ridge continues expanding Western culture beyond the arena. Lainey Wilson’s western roots remain front and center.

Western sports and Western entertainment continue to close the gap between the arena and the mainstream screen. Thanks to the Cowboy Channel, more rodeos are being streamed than ever before. This advancement has completely changed the sport.

When Teton Ridge entered the scene, they made it clear that they wanted to make rodeo bigger and better from production, to athletes, to marketing, and everything in between. They have not just focused on rodeo itself though. Teton has also branched out to other Western Lifestyle endeavors.

Most recenetly, Teton announced that Netflix has acquired Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool, a documentary produced by Teton Ridge Entertainment in collaboration with Sandbox Studios and MakeMake. It is set to premiere April 22 and will follow Wilson’s rise in country music and the work behind her success.

For rodeo fans, Wilson’s story isn’t new. Lainey is a popular voice in the western entertainment world. She performed during Round 9 of the 2023 National Finals Rodeo, bringing her brand of country music to one of the sports biggest stage. Now, that same Western audience will see her story reach a global platform through Netflix.

The announcement also shows another step Teton Ridge is taking in effort to grow Western culture. Known for its investments in rodeo properties and Western sports entertainment, the company is now helping carry a country music artist with strong rodeo ties to the screen as well.

Wilson’s connection to rodeo is rooted in more than a single NFR appearance.

She was raised in Baskin, Louisiana where she grew up on a farm. She will tell you that she rode horses before she could walk, and definitely long before she became a headlining artist. That upbringing shaped both her music and her brand.

Her album Bell Bottom Country really leaned into that authenticity. The look, the sound and the attitude reflect the kind of small town familiar feel to many rodeo competitors and fans.

Wilson also appeared as a musician on the television series Yellowstone, a show that introduced Western culture to millions of viewers and helped further blur the lines between country music, ranch life and entertainment.

In 2024, she made her RODEOHOUSTON debut. Now in 2026 she is set to headline once again at one of the largest rodeo events in the world. The Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo consistently draws massive crowds. The best of the best in country music have performed at RODEOHOUSTON

By partnering with Netflix, Teton Ridge places a Western centered story in front of viewers who may not have direct ties to rodeo but are drawn to the authentic heartwarming stories and country music.

According to Teton Ridge’s announcement, Lainey Wilson: Keepin’ Country Cool takes viewers behind the scenes of her journey and highlights the work that shaped her into a modern country music star.

For rodeo fans, that journey parallels the path many cowboys and cowgirls travel with small town beginnings, years on the road and a the rise to the major stages.

The film is scheduled for release April 22 on Netflix.
