The 5th PBR Teams season has officially kicked off with the Bulls and Beats event at Colorado State University. The night was full of rank bulls and skilled riders who left nothing on the table.

After the 2026 PBR World Finals, PBR cowboys have had a few months to rest and prepare for the season or to focus on their PRCA competition circuits. However, the wait for PBR fans has come to an end as the 2026 PBR Teams Series has officially kicked off at Colorado State University with the Bulls and Beats event.

Day 1 of competition as full of excitement, and a great way to kick off the 5th Teams season in PBR history. As it is such a new competition form in PBR, there can be some confusion as to the running and scoring of PBR Teams events. However, the system is quite simple.

Each PBR Teams event has a series of games where two teams face off against one another, each team sending out 5 riders per competition day. At the end of the event, the team with the highest composite score wins points for their team. At the end of the season, the teams with the highest scores compete in Las Vegas for the PBR Teams championship.

In today’s pairings, there was a mix of results, some games with close scores and others ending with a clear lead for one team. Each of the 5 games had its own unique highlights.

Game 1: Carolina Cowboys vs. Nashville Stampede

This game ended in a close score, as each team secured two qualified rides. Guilherme Valleiras of the Carolina Cowboys had the first qualified ride of the night, scoring an 87.75 on Red Rebellion. His ride was quickly met with a response from the Nashville Stampede when Daniel Feitosa rode Feel the Magic for 87.05 points. Jess Lockwood secured Carolina’s second qualified ride of the night, an 88.80-point ride on Mayor of Hogeye.

The final qualified ride of this event was by Rogério Venâcio, adding another 88.10-point ride to Nashville’s tally. In the end, the Carolina Cowboys came out with the edge with a total of 176.55, though Nashville isn’t far behind with 175.15 points. This was a great game with well-matched teams.

Game 2: Florida Freedom vs. Texas Rattlers

This was another close game, ending 260.9 vs. 265.45, with the Texas Rattlers taking the night 1 win. This game had an extremely exciting start, with 2026 PBR No. 1 and No. 2, John Crimber and Brady Fielder, riding back-to-back, though neither secured a qualified ride. Both teams got three qualified rides, the highest being Daniel Keeping’s 90.10-point ride on Tigger for the Texas Rattlers. This ride earned him the Night 1 MVP and helped his team win the game.

Game 3: Austin Gamblers vs. Kansas City Outlaws

This was an exciting game to follow as Sage Steele Kimzey opened the game strong with an 89.60-point ride on Wicked Solo. Overall, the Austin Gamblers forged a clear lead with three qualified rides while the Outlaws were only able to secure two qualified rides on Day 1. This left the game scored at 263.60 vs. 177.45, giving the Austin Gamblers an undeniable confidence boost as they start out the 2026 season.

Game 4: Arizona Ridge Riders vs. New York Mavericks

Game 4 was undeniably one of the most intriguing games to watch as the Arizona Ridge Riders were the only team to have four qualified rides on day one, giving them a win with a massive 347.65 cumulative points.

The Arizona Ridge Riders have built a solid team with a lot of experienced riders, as well as promising younger riders. This is likely what contributed to their success at the season opening.

Game 5: Missouri Thunder vs. Oklahoma Wildcatters

Missouri Thunder took the final game of the night by a landslide, accumulating 265.00 points from 3 qualified rides. In comparison, the Wildcatters secured only 87.75 points after having only one qualified ride on night one. The highest-scoring ride of this game was the very first cowboy to leave the chutes, Missouri Thunder rider Paulo Eduardo Rossetto, who posted an 88.5-point ride on Husky.

Overall, the first event of the PBR Teams season was chalk full of big rides, monster scores, and rank bulls. If tonight was any indication, we are in for the best PBR Teams season yet.
