In the midst of a majorly successful rookie season, Noah Lee shares his thoughts on one of his most notable recent victories: the Calgary Stampede
It seems as though the 19-year-old bull rider, Noah Lee, has been endlessly in rodeo headlines in recent weeks; and for good reason. In his rookie season, Noah Lee currently sits as the World No. 1 bull rider. A large part of this is due to his recent win at the Calgary Stampede Rodeo. With the addition of Calgary’s $50,000 winning payout, Noah has nearly doubled his 2026 season’s earnings in the month of July alone.
Although his win at Calgary held a significant impact on his PRCA World Standings, its impact was more significant on a personal level. Noah recently shared about the meaning this rodeo holds to him, sharing memories of his father winning the very same rodeo in 2008. Noah shared that he had always grown up watching the Calgary Stampede rode, never imagining that he would one day win it – let alone in is rookie season. Nonetheless, with the immediate shock of the victory fading, his World Standings cannot be ignored. When asked if he has expected this outcome in his rookie season, he simply answered, “No, not at all. I wouldn’t have ever thought I'd be where I am.”
At only 19 years of age, it's hard to imagine the feeling of being the No. 1 bull rider in the world. As a boy who grew up watching his father excel in rodeo, Noah Lee can only imagine the joy and pride his father must feel to not only follow in his footsteps but also to create a name for himself that will not soon be overlooked.
Noah continued to explain that his goal for this season was to make it to the Wrangler National Finals, a feat that requires an athlete to be in the top 15 in their sport. Clearly, this goal was far too low a bar for this rider, as he quickly surpassed it and went straight to the top. Furthermore, he holds a comfortable No. 1 spot in the Resistol Rookie race, putting him in a position to possibly win multiple championship titles at the NFR in December.
Sharing a mind with many rodeo athletes, Noah Lee expressed his excitement for thr upcoming Cheyanne Frontier Days. Lee explained that he is ready for Cheyanne. He’s “been waiting for Cheyanne.”
If his recent performance with countless wins is any indicator, we are sure to see big moves from this cowboy as the Cheyanne Frontier Days prepares to kick off. Although fans might use his past success as an indicator, Noah shared that he tries not to look to the past at all. This habit used to be one he clung to, constantly replaying his buck-offs and cracking his confidence. However, as he has grown in his sport, Noah has learned to not look back, but rather to look to the future.
Wins are good and can build confidence, but fixating on them can easily turn that confidence into cockiness. By looking to the future and focusing on his next ride, Noah can maintain clear thought and a firm grip on his skills, which are far from lacking.
Overall, Noah Lee’s win at Calgary was one that started a hot streak that seems to have no end in sight. With more major rodeos fast approaching, rodeo fans are anxious to see what this rookie will continue to accomplish in his 2026 season.
