The battle for gold in the 2026 PBR World Finals goes beyond the riders and into the chutes. Which bull will be able to claim the title of 2026 World Champion Bull?

PBR is known for having some of the rankest bulls in the world, and the 2026 PBR World Finals has brought the best of the best to the rank pen. As the 2026 PBR World Finals continues, the competition is not only for the top rider, but an equally close race for gold is the race for the title of No. 1 PBR Bull. In fact, there has been more movement at the top of the bull charts than the rider’s charts.

Night 2 of the 2026 PBR Finals was the first night when the top-charting bulls were able to show off their talent and athleticism on the World Finals dirt; these bulls came with something to prove, and they proved it. Of the 45 outs on night 2, 22 of those outs produced a bull score of 44 or higher. Because of their outs on this night, many of the top 10 bulls improved their averages significantly, tightening the race for No. 1.

One of the biggest bull moments on this night was the switch of the No. 1 and No. 2 positions on the World Champion Bull Rankings. All season, Ransom has been respected as one of the rankest bulls in the pen, only allowing 3 rides the entirety of the 2026 season. Ransom has also been posting monster numbers his past 2 outs, reaching a career record 47.85 at PBR Billings in April, as well as a 47.15 on night 2 of the 2026 PBR World Finals.

However, despite his recent high numbers, the bull Pegasus saw his chance and took it all out to the dirt on night 2 of the world finals. Producing more consistent scores throughout the season, only allowing 7 rides in 23 outs, Pegasus posted his highest score of the season on Friday, a 46.8. With his high performance throughout the season, this high-scoring ride was enough to push his average ever so slightly above Ransom’s, snagging him the title of the current No. 1 PBR Bucking Bull.

These results are by no means set in stone, however. With both bulls expected to make another out next weekend for night 5 of the 2026 PBR Finals, it’s sure to be a race to watch. With their performances this season, both bulls have only been improving as the season progresses, so there truly is no guarantee as to what the final standings will be.

On the one hand, Pegasus has been consistently producing quality rides, creating a solid average for himself. This bull is one athlete who loves his job and does it well. On the other hand, Ransom’s two highest-scoring rides have been his two most recent outs, and if he can have another 47-point out, it’s a very realistic possibility that he could take back the No. 1 title just as quickly as Pegasus snagged it.

Overall, the 2026 PBR World Finals have already been full of big moments and big shocks, and with so much already to watch on the scoreboards, this race with the bulls is only adding to the excitement of the event. As the Finals conclude, the bulls are sure to continue bringing their best to the dirt, and the competition won’t be easy for any one bull. So, with one out left in the 2026 season, may the best bull win.
