Sage Kimzey returned in Little Rock and once again delivered with Lights Out, the same bull that helped him secure all three of his Unleash The Beast event wins this season. This made a three peat for the seven time PRCA World Champion.

The first half of the 2026 PBR Unleash The Beast season continues to belong to the one and only Sage Kimzey.

The seven-time PRCA world champion secured his tour-leading third event victory of the season over the weekend in Little Rock, Arkansas, extending his lead atop the PBR Unleash the Beast World Standings.

Kimzey finished the event with 180.9 points on two bulls, highlighted by a 91.75 point ride aboard Lights Out in the Championship Round inside Simmons Bank Arena.

This big win earned Kimzey 137 UTB points. This pushed his season total to 637 points and widening the gap between himself and No. 2 John Crimber, who now trails by 83 points.

This is now Kimzeys third event win, and all three of them have been aboard the amazing bull, Lights Out.

A Calculated Weekend Pays Off

Kimzey’s win came after a strategic decision to sit out the previous Unleash The Beast event in Bridgeport. The veteran chose to rest before returning to competition in Little Rock. This was a champions move. He knew he needed a weekend off to be on top of his game. These are the decisions that seperate the good from the great.

After bucking off his first bull of the weekend, Kimzey responded the way champions often do. He came back with a vengeance. He posted an 89.35 point ride in Round 2, followed by the event-winning 91.75-point ride on Lights Out in the Championship Round.

The ride marked the third time this season Kimzey has selected Lights Out in the Championship Round and gone over 90 points, sealing the victory each time. This is another veteran move by Kimzey. He knows the bull, he knows the moves, he knows how to have big scores on his back.

Kimzey’s scores on the bull this season include 91.55, 90.75, and 92.05 points, making the pairing one of the most consistent combinations on the tour.

With the win, Kimzey now has five round wins during the 2026 season, more than any other rider on tour. The next closest competitors are Jess Lockwood and Clay Guiton, each with three to their name.

Dominating the 2026 Season

Through the first 12 events of the Unleash The Beast schedule, Kimzey has made himself the man they are all chasing. No other bull rider has more than two event wins, while Kimzey has three after Little Rock.

He also leads the tour in several key statistical categories, including his qualified rides, riding percentage, 90-point rides, and round wins. Kimzey is currently riding 68 percent of his bulls, with an average score of 86.89 points. The Oklahoma cowboy firmly in position to chase something he has yet to win, a PBR World Championship.

John Crimber Keeps Pace

While Kimzey continues to build separation at the top of the standings, John Crimber remains his closest challenger and has been all season long.

The 21 year old Texas bull rider finished third in Little Rock, earning 70 UTB points and recording his fifth Top 3 finish of the season.

Crimber went 2 for 3 during the event, riding Tchoupitoulas for 88.60 points in Round 2 before covering Mike’s Motive for 87.75 points in the Championship Round. John now sits second in the standings with 554 UTB points, keeping himself very well within striking distance as the season continues.

Kimzey’s consistency has created the largest gap between first and second place in the standings so far this year. However, it is still too early to call any major predictions other than it will be a battle until the end.

The Season Ahead

With six events remaining in the regular season, still a lot can happen.

With the seven-time PRCA world champion riding at the level he is now, the possibility of adding a PBR Gold Buckle to his already legendary résumé is becoming increasingly likely.
