The Ring of Honor is the highest honor a PBR rider can receive, and few are more deserving of this honor than Silvano Alves. With one of the best careers in PBR history, it's no wonder he was selected to be inducted into the Ring of Honor in 2026.
Great athletes will always come and go. Some compete, win, retire, and are all too soon forgotten by the world. However, some truly great athletes leave their mark on their sport with such a strong career, passion, and journey that their legacy can never be forgotten. PBR’s Ring of Honor is one such method to remember the best athletes to enter the chutes and is the highest honor a PBR rider can receive.
In nearly 35 years, there have been 50 riders added to this ring of honor, meant to remember and honor the careers and legacy of the best riders to ever compete in the PBR. The most recent indictees were added in 2025, when J.B. Mauney and Freckles Brown were added to the list. These riders have truly made an everlasting impact on the sport of professional bull riding, and their inclusion in the Ring of Honor will help ensure their impact will not be soon forgotten.
This honor is one that every professional bull rider hopes to receive, though very few achieve. The few that do, however, are the most deserving and highest-achieving riders in PBR history. Two more such riders will be added to the Ring of Honor in 2026, one of whom is Silvano Alves.
This rider is truly one of the greats, with a long and successful career under his belt. As a three-time World Champion, he is one of three record holders for the most PBR Championship wins. To date, no rider has achieved more than three Championship wins, making Silvano one of the few and one of the greats. Not only that, but Alves also holds the record for the third-highest all-time earnings, totaling over $6.7 million throughout his PBR career. Alves’s earnings are only second to the legendary José Vitor Leme and J.B. Mauney.
Alves’s career was a memorable one from the first time he stepped out onto the dirt, winning the 2010 PBR Rookie of the Year. He then proceeded to win the PBR World Championship back-to-back in the following years, becoming the 2011 and 2012 World Champion. Alves also added the 2014 World Champion title to his belt, just for good measure. With 527 career rides, Silvano’s skill truly speaks for itself.
Silvano was selected in his first year of eligibility for the Ring of Honor, speaking volumes to his lasting impact and valuable time in the PBR. Although his statistics and success alone could qualify him for this prestigious honor, it was also the person Silvano Alves was and chose to be that made him such a clear candidate for the Ring of Honor.
Known by his competitors as a man of honor, integrity, and respect, he had an impact on the sport that went far beyond his statistics. Overall, Silvano Alves was a great bull rider and an amazing PBR member whose career will be forever remembered as one of the best and most honorable careers in PBR history.
