The PBR Teams just recently had their new rider draft. The headline of this: Australian bull riders. They are starting to turn heads and put cowboys in the states on notice as four were selected during this year's draft.
2025 is welcoming a ton of new talent, but this is the first time that two Australians had been drafted in the same class, let alone four. In fact, two went in the top five AND they are brothers.
Macaulie and Boston Leather are both chasing their dreams in the United States. Macaulie, 24, and Boston, 19, were picked at numbers three and five. The eldest was picked first, of course, by the Texas Rattlers. Two picks later the Missouri Thunder chose Boston.
The Oklahoma Wildcatters did not think two Aussies would be enough for this year’s draft class! They went ahead to pick two more just for themselves.
At pick number 10 CEO Commissioner Sean Gleason called out the name of 19-year-old Thomas Triplett. Jack Brodrick, age 22, was selected to the team at number 23 overall.
25-year-old Brady Fielder of Queensland, Australia paved the way for the new talent coming out of his home country.
The inaugural season for PBR Teams was in 2022. This is when he decided to commit fully to a full-time job in the United States. He was selected 26th overall by the Texas Rattlers and it is safe to say that was one of their best decisions as a team.
Fielder continued to improve each year. By the end of 2025 he left the PBR Finals ranked number three. In his career he has 13 90 point rides and has amassed over $1.1 million dollars in his career.
2025 could potentially be the year of the Aussie for the PBR. The PBR Camping World Team Series will start off in Oklahoma City the second week of July and everybody will have to wait and see what these cowboys from down under can do!
