The Hondo Rodeo Fest comes to New Orleans

NEW ORLEANS, LA — April 6, 2026 — Caesars Superdome will host the Hondo Rodeo Fest, bringing rodeo and western lifestyle to the Big Easy with a three-night, million-dollar competition broadcast live by WDSU-TV April 10–12 from 6–8 p.m. CST.

By bringing the Hondo Rodeo Fest to Southern Louisiana, it further reinforces the rich history of Cowboys this state already bears. Now, with Live TV coverage, fans across the state can tune in. Viewers can see some of the top athletes in their sport compete on the big stage.

The invite-only event features eight competitions, including bull riding, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing, Steer wrestling, and team roping. Some of the world’s top cowboys and cowgirls will compete, including several Louisiana natives.

Nightly broadcasts air on WDSU’s MeTV 6.2. You can also stream the event online.

Beyond the rodeo, the festival will feature headline concerts by Jason Aldean, Cody Johnson, and Creed, along with performances from Lynyrd Skynyrd, Old Dominion, and Bailey Zimmerman.

James Trawick, CEO of the Hondo Rodeo Fest, had this to say:

“We’re thrilled to partner with Hearst Television to bring the Hondo Rodeo competition into homes across the New Orleans market,” said James Trawick, CEO of The Hondo Rodeo Fest. “The Hondo Rodeo Fest is a multiple-day event. We both celebrate rodeo as a sport and its deep roots in Western culture. By teaming up with WDSU-TV, the number one station in the region, we’re able to further create exposure for our talented athletes and the Western culture values that make this event so special.”
