Powered by Roundtable

The California run is well underway, and the historical Red Bluff Roundup crowned it's 2026 champions.

The Red Bluff Roundup is one of the first rodeo's in the spring California run. After the Texas Swing completes, cowboys and cowgirls head to the West Coast to continue the season. This year was no different.

Red Bluff wrapped up with some big names on top of their leaderboard per usual. This is a key stop on a rodeo athletes calendar. Some rodeos are known for their payouts, some for their sold out crowds, and some for the history. Red Bluff is known for all of it. It is a fan and contestant favorite year after year.

Bareback Riding

He currently sits number 5 in the World Standings and is looking to make his 6th trip to the NFR this year. Cole Reiner added another win in Red Bluff. He was 87 points on C5 Rodeo's Pretty Woman. Pretty Woman is a talented National Finals bucking horse that is consistently producing huge rides for the best guys.

The Wyoming cowboy topped the field, but close behind was a tie for second between Tucker Carricato and Mason Stuller with 86 points.

Steer Wrestling

The steer wrestling was a four head average. The guys had two long rounds, semi finals, and finals. A 4.7 for Jace Mayfield would take the round 1 win. Cash Robb made a fast 4.3 second run to win round 2. In the semi finals Rooster Yazzie got the win with a 4.9. The finals round win went to Eli Lord with the fastest time of the rodeo, 4.2.

Chase Crane may not have won a round, but he stayed the most consistent to be the average winner with 21.8 on four head. The Oklahoma cowboy has had great success so far in 2026 where he currently sits number 11 in the PRCA World Standings.

Team Roping

The team roping was the same set up as the steer wrestling. In the first round, Cory Kidd and Carson Johnson came out strong with 6.8 seconds for the win. The second round got faster yet with Jack Fischer and Scott Lauaki taking the win with a 5.8 second run. Dominating the semi finals was a 6.9 by Jr. Dees and Landen Glenn. We keep talking about a young header who is making big moves in the PRCA. Tyler Tryan, and partner Levi Lord continue their winning ways winning the finals in Red Bluff with a 6.5.

The average champs were Jr. Dees and Landen Glenn with 29.8 seconds on the four head average.

Saddle Bronc

A Kansas cowboy dominated the saddle bronc in Red Bluff. Weston Patterson was 89 points on Yule Rodeo's Mary Lou. Patterson sits right outside of the top 15 right now, but is trying to make his second NFR appearance in 2026. He made his debut Thomas and Mack trip in 2025, where he got a round win and the fire in him to get back under the Vegas lights. There is still plenty of year left, and Patterson is leaving no doubt he is well capable.

Breakaway Roping

There was a lot of talk about the breakaway ropers in California this year after the Clovis rodeo removed it from their lineup in 2026. But the ladies still showed up in Red Bluff. Peggy Garman took the win with a 2.8 second run.

Tie-Down Roping

The tie-down roping was one of the closest races all throughout. Veteran cowboy Hunter Herrin would be crowned the average champion with 41.2 seconds on four calves. Herrin also got the round one win with an 8.9. Cole Clemons matched that with an 8.9 of his own to win the second round.  Quade Hiatt and Colton Suther would tie in the semi finals with an 8.5. The Resistol Rookie leader Kyan Wilhite won the finals with an 8.9.

Barrel Racing

The barrel race was a two head average. Kathy Petska was 34.73 seconds on two to take the average win. Her 17.34 in the finals was enough to also win that round after placing second in the first round. The only lady faster than Petska all week was  Julia Johnson with her round win in 17.22 seconds.

Bull Riding

None other than rodeo's Superman took home the bull riding title in Red Bluff. Stetson Wright was 90 points on Powder River Rodeo's Clyde for the win. Wright is on the chase for three gold buckles this year, and currently sits in the top spot in the bull riding, the saddle bronc, and the all around race.
